I located this article and it talks about the different myths related to eLearning in the classroom. I did not realize there were so many strong opinions against technology in the classroom. One of the myths that I found to be entirely wrong was “it shelters children from the real world.” If anything, technology is linking children to the outside/real world by allowing them to expand their learning. Most of these myths sound a little crazy, which is probably the reason they are myths, but I feel the explanations behind each help to encourage teachers to bring technology into the classroom.
What myth shocked you most? If you were a new teacher, would any of these statements deter you from using technology in the classroom?
